CBCSRD sales agent Kyle Vreeland helped Madden find their new home at 116 South Tennessee Ave. in Lakeland. He will be one of five participants in a hot dog eating “throwdown” hosted by Madden. The participants are raising money through Lakeland-based fundraising website Qgiv to support SPCA Florida.

This is also a great chance to see a great example of modern downtown Lakeland office space. Madden has done a great job of putting their own signature style into their offices and want you to come see what they have done.

The event takes place this Friday, June 7, from 11:30 am – 2:00 pm. The hot dog eating competition will take place at 12:30.

CBC Saunders Ralston Dantzler Realty co-hosted for the second year, the BBQ held annually by CBC Saunders Real Estate. The annual event was started by CBC  Saunders Real Estate eight years ago.  The event, held in late October or first of November each year, gathers clients, friends, vendors, and elected officials for what is known as “just a get-together to have fun.”

Held in “The Barn” of Leland and Wanda Young in Alturas, FL, guests were surrounded by walls loaded with interesting antique signs, tools, and farm implements. Over 300 guests enjoyed a homemade BBQ dinner. Dean Saunders and sales agents personally cook the BBQ meat in a trailer-sized professional BBQ cooker for 24 hours to create the best BBQ found. All side dishes, cowboy beans, potato salad, rolls, and desserts were prepared by the Saunders’ family, wife Gina, daughter Lauren, staff Brigid Quill, and others.

Music and food were the agenda, along with the special announcement and unveiling of the 8th commissioned painting for 2012.

The symposium was moderated by Gary Ralston. R. Todd Dantzler, CCIM, County Commissioner and partner of Coldwell Banker Commercial Saunders Ralston Dantzler Realty was a part of the expert panel discussing trending in commercial real estate.

The Lakeland Area Chamber of Commerce hosts this event every two years to bring candidates and citizens together to encourage voters to research and make informed decisions on election day. The VIP Reception gives attendees the chance to mingle with local and state candidates in a relaxed setting and before the official event begins in the park. In attendance were candidates for State Senate seats, State Representative seats, Judicial seats, and Polk County Commission seats.

The three floors of the BB&T Bank building located right on the Munn Park square, were successfully utilized for a progressive heavy hors d’oeuvres spread, with the CBC offices on the 3rd floor hosting the desserts.

After the VIP Reception, historic Munn Park transformed into an old-fashioned political rally, where attendees had the opportunity to hear from candidates and discuss important issues facing the community. Speeches and a straw poll ended in a candidate meet & greet time.

 Although retail sales  are not growing at the same rate they did over the last decade, it is still a good place to be.

Nontraditional businesses – the big opportunity is occupancy by tenants who fall outside the specific definition of retail, such as equipment repair, dry cleaning, beauty shops, nail services, pet care, etc…

Large purveyors – the top 100 retail chains are capturing an increasingly larger portion of total retail sales. That is because they are getting more efficient and doing better business because of it.

Gary’s next class is the CCIM class, “Market Analysis for Commercial Investment Real Estate,” to be held at the FLORIDA REALTORS headquarters in Orlando, Nov. 5 through 8, 2012.

For 50 years the award has recognized Realtors for their work, dedication, and individual contributions to their local, state, and national associations, as well as their community. Todd is a great example of what this award exemplifies.
