Helen Thompson is an advocate for advancing analytics and geographic literacy. Every twenty-first century data set contains location yet most people and businesses remain blind to the importance of geography when making decisions. The Internet of Things, Connected Vehicles, Social Media and every purchase provides a geospatial exhaust that can be used to create opportunities or understand for both consumers and businesses. She believes this geographic context is central to creating a new society as well as solving some of our biggest challenges. These range from global economic shifts and risk reduction to driverless cars, smart buildings, 3D technology and the ongoing acceleration in the interconnectivity of our world.
