As the former Executive Director of the Downtown Lakeland Partnership organization, Julie keenly understands the needs of the energetic business community, as well as the vibrant social dynamics found in the downtown constituency.

“Because of my work with the Downtown Lakeland Partnership, I have a passion for the revitalization of the area and want to be a driving force to bring new business and jobs to downtown,” she explains.

Julie has lived in Lakeland for 13 years with her husband and children in downtown’s Historic Lake Morton Neighborhood. She remains active in her community by serving on committees for local public events, such as the Spring Obsession Garden Show, Historic Home and Garden Tours, and Politics in the Park. Her professional associations include Lakeland Rotary Club, Florida Public Relations Association, Leadership Lakeland Class 28, and Leadership Lakeland Alumni Association. In addition, she serves on the board of directors for the Florida Bipartisan Civic Affairs Group and recently was elected to the board of directors for the Lakeland Downtown Development Authority.

Julie obtained a BA degree in Philosophy with an emphasis in Ethics and Logic from the University of New Orleans. Her broad career experience includes project management in the public and private sectors, as well as in marketing and public relations.
